Same mission different name:
Better Together Animal Alliance formerly Panhandle Animal Shelter,
is dedicated to serving the animals of North Idaho. Our programs are
focused on keeping families together and though sheltering is still part
of our services we want sheltering to be a small part of what we do,
because our work keeps families together.

HOME To Home

Home To Home helps pets stay out of shelters. It’s a unique, direct-to-adopter program for pet owners looking to rehome their pets. In just a few simple steps, pets can find a loving new home without ever seeing the inside of a shelter. It’s free to use for pet owners and adopters, and gives animals needing a new home the best of both worlds: their current owner can find the best fit, and their adopter can learn all about their personality and preferences first-hand. Better Together Animal Alliance Thrift Store offers the community quality resale clothing, housewares, electronics, furniture and more at very affordable prices.

We believe in the power of the human-animal bond and that people and their pets are better together. In everything we do, we seek to support people and their pets so that only animals with no other options will need to come to the shelter. We believe that animal shelters should be resource centers that support all members of the community and we believe in adopting innovative programs and best practices for animal welfare organizations because it leads to life-saving and preserves resources for the animals who need them most.
