Animal Care Center Veterinarian

$85,000 – $110,000 a year – Full-time

Better Together Animal Alliance has been caring for animals for over 30 years. We work to improve the health and well-being of the animals in our care and in our community by providing routine veterinary care. We are looking for a shelter veterinarian who identifies and believes in our mission and shares our values of Compassion, Respect, Integrity, Stewardship and Optimism.

Better Together Animal Alliance provides a flexible schedule that consists of 8 hour work days, 4 days a week. We encourage all of our team members to take personal time and support a proper work-personal life balance. We see you for the person you are, not the position you fill.

Our medical department offers a full surgical and recovery suite, in house and outside laboratory services, ultrasonic dental scaler, high speed drill and polisher and future plans of adding digital x-ray and ultrasound. Our team is composed of a medical manager and 3 veterinary technicians with over 50 years of combined experience.

Our shelter is located in beautiful Sandpoint, Idaho which has been recognized by multiple travel publications as one of the most beautiful small towns in America. Not only does our community provide access to world class skiing and one of the largest natural lakes west of the Mississippi, it is composed of great people who seek to live a quality, simple lifestyle.

Requirements:

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD)
  • Eligible to be licensed to practice veterinary medicine in the state of Idaho
  • Current DEA license for controlled substances
  • Strong surgical and diagnostic skills
  • Interest in and understanding of shelter medicine and Fear Free Pet certification

  • Full time salary $85,000 – $110,000
