Missing best friend

Salem is his name but his previous owner had him chipped and his name then was Grayson, so if he’s been scanned that’s the name you’ll get with owner being Megan and an unreachable number. He is all black with a newly broken tail. I’ve tried to re-register him but the company won’t let me even tho I have all the paperwork as previous owner is no longer reachable and I’ve had him since 6 months old and he’s now 4ish. He has a recently broken and kinked tail from a close call with a wild animal. We live in the woods and he’s always been outdoors and has never been gone from site more than 2 days max. I know what likely happened, but am holding out hope that someone found him and just thought they would help the poor kitty, but he has a wonderful loving home with a cat brother and human brother and parents that all miss him dearly.
