Additional Information

Belly Tatoo

Every pet spayed at our clinic will receive a small, green tattoo next to their incision to inform future caregivers that the pet no longer has internal reproductive organs. If the pet is ever lost or rehomed, a tattoo can help the pet avoid unnecessary, invasive surgery.

Pre-operative Exam

Some pets require a preoperative exam and bloodwork to reduce risk. Examples of pets that fall into this category are:

  • Brachycephalic dog breeds (Bulldogs, Pugs, Boston Terriers, French Bulldogs, Boxers, Shih Tzus, etc.)
  • Pets with previous disorders (seizures, bleeding)
  • Pets over 5 years old (dogs) and 7 years old (cats)
  • Pets that are obese
  • Pets on medications that treat thyroid, kidney, or other chronic issues

Pets in these categories may have higher risks associated with surgery. Failure to schedule a preoperative exam before your surgery may result in cancellation or additional fees.

Additional Fees May Include

  • Medication Dispensing Fee   $7
  • In Heat  (female dog only)   $50
  • Pregnancy  $50-$100
  • Brachycephalic Breeds $30
  • Aggressive behavior (depending on the weight and extra medication) $45 (owner may need to be present)
  • E-Collars Requested/Recommendation $4+ depending on size
  • Cryptorchid (undescended testicles) $50+
  • Senior/at risk $45+
  • Pre-Surgery Blood Work (required for some pets)  $65
  • Capstar Flea Medication (automatically given if fleas are present) $10
